I am a professional pianist living in Madison, WI. I attended UW-Madison for several years, where I earned a double Masters Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, and a doctorate in Collaborative Piano. On December 14, 2007, I completed my DMA in Collaborative Piano and gave birth to my second child (it was quite a day). Since then, I have been perfecting the art of balancing motherhood with life as a performing musician, always a fun and interesting challenge!
I have been teaching piano for nearly 20 years, since I was a college student! In Fall 2014, I joined the faculty of Edgewood College as an adjunct instructor of Class Piano. I also collaborate with other professional musicians for a variety of local performances and accompany graduate and undergraduate student recitals. I frequently accompany pre-college students for scholarship and concerto auditions, solo/ensemble competitions, and studio recitals. I am equally comfortable with vocal and instrumental repertoire, and I have a special affinity for contemporary music.
I completed a minor in musicology during my DMA. For the past few years, I have worked on a freelance basis as an editor and writing tutor. I have worked with many students, non-native English speakers in particular, on their term papers, program notes and dissertations. I am comfortable working with papers in all music-related subjects, and I have a fast turnaround time.
I am available to accompany instrumental and vocal musicians in professional and student recitals, auditions, and competitions. I am also available as a copyeditor for term papers, program notes, essays and dissertations. Please contact me for availability and current rates.
